So we have some good news and some bad news.
We'll start with the bad news. Jeromey Clary left practice yesterday after injuring his shoulder. Apparently it was bad enough that he was unable to practice today. Also, Nick Hardwick did not practice again today. That's about it for the bad news.
The good news is that D.J. Fluker and Eric Weddle returned to practice today. Weddle was a full participant in practice today, so it appears he'll be good to go for Sunday. Fluker was a limited participant. Apparently he stretched with the team, and then stood on the sidelines with Nick Hardwick for the rest of practice.
Hardwick was talking with reporters yesterday during the Chargers' afternoon press conference. All indications were he's fine, but was reminded by the Chargers media staff that he's not to talk to the media while going through the concussion protocol, so his presence was short.
As far as a timetable for Hardwick's return, there's no set policy on how quickly he can return. The team has to follow protocol, and that includes slowly returning Hardwick to practice and physical activity. His being out of practice again today doesn't bode well for him playing Sunday, which is probably for the best for his own health.
Seeing how well Rich Ohrnberger filled in against the Bengals, the Chargers should be okay to not rush Nick back to the field.
