Well, that was a fun first half. In a game that started with an interception by Cam Thomas (!) and a touchdown pass to Ryan Mathews, the San Diego Chargers actually spent the entire first half looking like a team that's better than the Houston Texans, an early Super Bowl favorite.
The first half really couldn't have gone any better for San Diego. Philip Rivers looks like 2009 Philip Rivers, Ryan Mathews looks like the running back Chargers fans have been waiting for since the day he was drafted and the defense looks just good enough to win games.
Rivers has thrown three touchdown passes, to Mathews (his first NFL TD catch!), Eddie Royal and Vincent Brown. If he keeps that up in the second half, it should be smooth sailing for San Diego the rest of the way.
The Chargers start the second half with the ball, the momentum and a crazy home crowd behind them. It should be fun to see what all of the coaches do with their halftime adjustments.
