Manti Te'o is still working his way back - Bill Williamson
When Manti Te'o's foot injury was first disclosed by the San Diego Chargers on Aug. 10, they said he’d be out a week. Nine days later, the starting rookie inside linebacker is out of the walking boot, but he is not practicing. He is working on the side. That is a good sign, but it is unclear if Te'o will be ready to play Saturday in the team’s third preseason game.

Mailbag: Ryan Mathews and the Offensive Line - Ricky Henne
Mathews is entering his fourth-year in the league, is just 25 years old and has a world of talent.  He’s the first to admit last year was a disappointment for a variety of reasons, but what I like best is that he refuses to look back at 2012.  He is completely focused on 2013.  I like the way he is running the ball with confidence and making quick decisions.   He is also falling forward for positive yards.

Chargers Have Potential to be Elite Defense - Ricky Henne
"There is a good amount of guys who can play good football to be an elite defense," said Derek Cox, a newcomer in 2013 who is expected to make the unit even stronger. "I’m impressed with the whole defensive side of the ball.  As a defensive back, when your teammates can affect the quarterback with a rush and work together with our coverage, it puts the defense in position to make plays, get our hands on balls, force turnovers and get the ball back to our offense.  I am just excited about seeing us reach our potential, which I think we will."
