San Diego Chargers sign QB Nathan Enderle

A day after waiving QB Mike Hermann, the Chargers pick up free agent QB Nathan Enderle to take his place as the fourth QB in training camp.

Alright, well here's a more definitive reason for the San Diego Chargers waiving Mike Hermann last night: They like Nathan Enderle better.

Enderle was drafted in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears and spent the season as their third QB. At the end of the season, he was released and he's bounced around ever since, from the Jaguars to the Titans to the Chargers.

Enderle has all of the physical tools to become a good NFL QB. Coming out of college, the knocks against him were that he wasn't mentally tough and he wasn't enough of a risk-taker/gun-slinger. Not a terrible guy to bring in to compete with Brad Sorensen for the third QB spot on the roster, though.

The new QB will take Mike Hermann's #7 jersey.
