I told you. Injuries on the first day of Training Camp never end well.
Chargers inside linebacker Jonas Mouton (torn ACL) is out for the season. Injured right knee Thursday, the first day of training camp.

Well, I guess he won't be competing with Manti Te'o for that Inside Linebacker job.
The good news here, for Mouton, is that I don't think the team can cut him if he's injured. Unless I'm not understanding the rules correctly, Jonas will spend the 2013 season the same way he spent his rookie season in 2011: on Injured-Reserve.
Luckily for Tom Telesco, he claimed D.J. Smith off waivers from the Green Bay Packers this offseason. Smith will likely be the one sliding up from the third-team defense to take Mouton's spot on the second-team defense and on Special Teams.
