Then there’s John Phillips, a tight end we’re excited about. In Dallas he was Jason Witten’s complementary tight end. He did all the dirty work. He was a lunch pail guy around the line of scrimmage. He is a really good run blocker and a pass blocker. You can move him around in the backfield. He has really good hands, is smart and is tough.

Austin and Patterson would be great there, but I think they would be backup plans to the backup plan if all the LTs were gone. Maybe they could be an option if the Chargers traded down to the 16-20 range.

Dunlap, at 6-foot-10, struggles to play with proper leverage and mechanics. His predecessor, Jeromey Clary, was never great, but at least coaches knew what they’d get with him. Though he's still on the roster, he's a likely cap casualty sometime in the next few weeks.
