San Diego Chargers Sign RB Danny Woodhead to Two-Year Contract

Finally, a big name lands in San Diego with the Chargers.

I love this signing. Danny Woodhead was similar to Darren Sproles in that the New England Patriots could plug him anywhere into the offense and he would find ways to be effective. He's a solid runner, pass-catcher and pass-blocker.

Pro Football Focus ranked Woodhead as the 10th best running back in the league in 2012, so you could say that this is the type of "impact signing" that the Chargers' fans have been desperately waiting for. Danny was already a fan-favorite with New Englanders, and he's sure to get big reactions from the crowd down at Qualcomm Stadium as well.
