NFL Combine: Scouting the Linebackers - Chargers.com
I might as well get the obligatory Manti Te’o portion of this scouting report out of the way early, since I’d be remiss if I didn’t address it. The much-hyped linebacker wasn’t expected to run a fast 40-yard dash and he ended up clocking one of the worst times in his position group with a 4.82. Still, I liked what I saw from Te’o in the actual football drills.
NFL Combine: Scouting the Defensive Line - Chargers.com
Each year it seems as though defensive line prospects get more athletic, and that trend continued Monday at the Combine. Although I’d have to go back and watch what these players put on tape to get a true sense of how they apply it in game action, I was impressed by the speed and athleticism many displayed. One guy who caught my eye immediately who I did not know much about was defensive end Margus Hunt from tiny Southern Methodist.
The Cold, Hard Truth - Mike Tanier
Barkley said that he is on schedule, that doctors now permit him to throw without supervision, and that he is working with the medical staff that brought Sam Bradford and Drew Brees back from injuries. Barkley delivered the best deadpan response of Friday when asked how he would respond to critics who say he lacks an NFL arm. "I would disagree," he said.
Henne’s NFL Scouting Combine Blog – Day 6 - Ricky Henne
I’ll have more up on our site later today on them in more depth, but the guys who caught my eye were Margus Hunt, Dion Jordan, Corey Lemonier and the guy with the coolest name in the draft, Barkevious Mingo.
Chargers' Telesco talks of big task - Kevin Acee
Telesco would not get into evaluating individual players or even hint at the team’s plans for them, but he acknowledged, "We’re going to be talking to a lot of agents here ... trying to get some dialogue going there."
Chargers could rework deals to get cap relief - Kevin Acee
"Some things we’ll probably have to look at, as far as where we are," Telesco said this week at the NFL Combine. "Sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it doesn’t ... You always know which ones could be reworked. I don’t know if we’ll have to go down that route or not. Probably not. We’re still early in that process … I think we’ll open up the next year, but we don’t have a lot of room this year. But we’ll make do."
The Plight of the Cord-Cutting Sports Fan - John Gennaro
So, here I sit in between the months of football and baseball. I pay my monthly cable bill for the right to watch the Padres when games start airing in the spring, and the Chargers when games start airing in August.
