The San Diego Chargers will lose to the Oakland Raiders

Terrelle Pryor

Last year, in his first real playing time at the NFL level, Terrelle Pryor threw the Oakland Raiders on his back and almost willed them to victory over the San Diego Chargers by himself. He scored all three of Oakland's touchdowns, throwing for two of them and running for another. Luckily for us, the Chargers won (although, in retrospect, it would've been nice to have a higher draft pick) by three points when Pryor ran out of time.

That game haunted me all offseason. It haunted me in training camp, when the Raiders finally got smart enough to make Pryor the starting QB over Matt Flynn. Pryor's potential is insane, and he's not the far from realizing it. While the Raiders have gotten worse at seemingly every position, they still have the prototypical QB for beating this Chargers defense. His big arm will force Pagano to keep safeties deep, and his legs will create big plays the same way they did last year. It very well could be the Titans game all over again.

Rashad Jennings

Jennings is kind of the anti-Darren McFadden. He came out of nowhere at the NFL Combine and was drafted out of Liberty by the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he was never given a chance to do much of anything as he was firmly planted behind Maurice Jones-Drew. He left Jacksonville to come to the Raiders to get a chance to be a starting running back (because, when you're behind McFadden on the depth chart, it's only a matter of time before you're the starter).

This week is Jennings' chance. It's his chance to start (McFadden is very doubtful), his chance to try and be the long-term starter and his chance to prove to the NFL that he's a good player that just needed a chance. At 6'1" and 235 lbs, he's a big running back and he's got plenty of speed to go with it.

Last week, Jennings touched the ball 22 times against the Washington Redskins and picked up 116 total yards. San Diego's front seven will need to find a way to stop him, stop Pryor's running and get pressure without Dwight Freeney. Doesn't sound so easy.

Nighttime in Oakland

An 8:35pm game in Oakland? That's three hours after Sunday Night Football. That's later than Monday Night Football. I believe it's an hour or so later than when ESPN does a Monday Night Football double-header.

Weird things happen in late games and weird things happen in Oakland. This Chargers team has had two good games and two bad games. This Raiders team has had two good games (almost beating the Colts is a good game) and two bad games. Similar to last week's Cowboys game, anything can happen in this matchup and I wouldn't be surprised by any of it.
