Exclusive Interview from the Senior Bowl with John Spanos - Ricky Henne
Vincent Brown is a perfect example. We liked him a lot. He was obviously in our own backyard in San Diego. But I remember his week down here very well in terms of really standing out and having a good week in one-on-ones and seven-on-sevens. He caught the ball very well and ran great routes. He was a guy that didn’t really time that well in terms of 40 time, but you could tell from his week here at the Senior Bowl that he plays a lot faster and practices a lot faster than his 40 time.

Exclusive Interview from the Senior Bowl with Tom Telesco - Ricky Henne
The big thing is we’re still putting our assistant coaching staff together. Usually that’s something that’s already in place, so part of the work down here has been talking to coaches and going through the process of putting a staff together. So that’s been the first part of it. The second part is getting to know our scouting staff better in terms of how they grade, how they describe players, which types of players they like and even the areas they had this past fall. It’s all stuff I didn’t know because I was with the Colts.

Bolts Madness: Gates vs. Spurlock - Ricky Henne

Chargers add Milus, Johnston to coaching staff - Chargers.com
Milus relocates to San Diego from Denver, where he spent the last two seasons coaching the Broncos’ secondary. The Broncos were one of the NFL’s best defensive units in 2012 as they led the NFL in allowing the fewest yards per pass play (6.4). Denver ranked second in the League in total defense last season and third against the pass as they won the AFC West title with a 13-3 record and earned the top seed in the AFC playoffs. Cornerback Chris Harris returned two of his three interceptions for touchdowns and veteran corner Champ Bailey was selected to the AFC Pro Bowl squad for the 12th time in his career.

Former Denver coaches unite in San Diego - Bill Williamson
Mike McCoy doesn’t blame Ron Milus for the Denver Broncos’ breakdown against Baltimore in the AFC divisional playoff game. McCoy, the new head coach in San Diego, has hired Milus as his new secondary coach, according to U-T San Diego.

Poll results: Reid over McCoy - Bill Williamson
Thus, it is not a surprise our AFC West poll this week was a close call. We asked readers which hire was the best. As of 6:15 p.m. ET, 53 percent of the votes cast were in favor of the Reid hire, while 47 percent backed the McCoy hire.
