San Diego Chargers Select D.J. Fluker with 11th Overall Pick

Tom Telesco's first pick as General Manager of the San Diego Chargers is D.J. Fluker, Offensive Tackle from the University of Alabama.

With the highest draft pick that they've had in quite some time, the San Diego Chargers used it to select an idiot.

Scouts agree that Fluker, who played Right Tackle at the University of Alabama, is suited to play Right Tackle or Guard in the NFL. He is not a Left Tackle prospect, but that doesn't mean that the Chargers won't try to force him there.

This was not the best player available, this was a desperation pick for the highest-rated Tackle left in the draft. The team now has a handful of Right Tackles and nobody that can play on the left side to protect Philip Rivers' blind-side.

I am obviously not a fan of this as Tom Telesco's first pick as General Manager of the Chargers. The team has obvious needs at Nose Tackle and Safety. San Diego could've had the best player at either of those positions in this draft, but they instead chose to get (arguably) the 4th best Tackle instead.
