The 2013 NFL Draft is finally here! It starts tonight and we'll be doing an open thread during each round of the draft, as well as a very special "REACTION!" edition of Gennaro-ly Speaking after the first round tonight.
Here's the where and when so that you can properly schedule the rest of your life around a football event in which no football is actually played:
Thursday, April 25 - 5:00 p.m. PT (Round 1 - 10 Minutes Per Pick)
I despise the Thursday night first round. I miss when the draft was all weekend and didn't require me to leave work early.
If you figure that each team takes the full 10 minutes, the first round will take 320 minutes (or, a little over 5 hours). I think you can expect tonight's BFTB Vidcast to happen sometime around 9pm PT.
Friday, April 26 - 3:30 p.m. PT (Round 2 - 7 Minutes, Round 3 - 5 Minutes Per Pick)
Faster picks! Yay!
An earlier start time means I'm leaving work even earlier, but there's more picks while still coming in at less than 6 hours. Let's call my Friday productivity a wash.
Saturday, April 27 - 9 a.m. PT (Rounds 4-7 - 5 Minutes Per Pick)
My girlfriend informed me that she is going out to breakfast with her friend on Saturday morning. She asked what I'd be doing with the free time. I let my mind wander and think about all of the great ways I could spend a couple of hours on a Saturday morning before seeing my ankle, chained to my couch and the 2013 NFL Draft. I will be a bitter person by time Saturday rolls around. Happens every year.
The draft should be shorter.
