Tomorrow, when we'll all probably be busy watching college football, Bolts from the Blue is turning four years old.
The beginnings were meager. A two-paragraph post from a die-hard San Diego Chargers fan that had, up until that point, spent most of his time in the comments of the Denver Broncos blog. I was handed the keys to this empire about six months after that, when Brian's real-life responsibilities began taking up too much of his time to write here.
This blog, as much as I seem to treat it with disdain, has played an integral part in my life. It has been like a dream for me. In many ways, it is my baby and every day I think about how proud I am of it. We employ some fantastic writers on staff, we have amazing commenters, the FanPosts we get are incredible, and our audience on Twitter and Facebook is nothing if not fun. I couldn't have grown this community to this point without the staff, the commenters, or SB Nation in general.
The person I have to thank the most for BFTB, though is Brian. He got a foot in the door for the Chargers community on SB Nation, and he spoke up for me to be his successor. My life is forever changed by those two things, and I shudder to think which horrible Chargers forum I might've ended up without them happening.
Anyway, here's how far we've all come since September 8th, 2008.
