Let's pick out a dream scenario from this game and root for that. You can put yours in the comments, here's mine:

  • Falcons win a tough, close home game off a late Peyton Manning interception.
  • Peyton has to face his old nemesis Wade Phillips and the Houston Texans next week.
  • The Chargers defeat the Atlanta Falcons in San Diego.
  • After Week 3, Chargers are 3-0 and the Broncos are 1-2, with one of the Chargers wins coming over a team that just beat the Broncos the week before.
That'd be pretty great, right? The Chargers would undeniably be the best team in the division, if all that were to happen, and they'd have quite the lead as they wrap up the first quarter of the season.

Step 1 is a Falcons win, but not one that's so terrifyingly good that we have to worry about whether or not the Chargers can beat them. Just a close win due to their home crowd and a Manning mistake. I'm rooting for that.
