The first half of this football game was very up and down, but you wouldn't know it from the 17-3 lead that the San Diego Chargers went into halftime with.
in the first quarter, all three phases of the game looked to be dominated by the Chargers. In the second quarter, things took a dramatic turn after a 15-yard unnecessary roughness (dumb) penalty against DE Vaughn Martin when he hit a sliding Jake Locker. The defense spent the rest of the drive giving up yards by the bunch and Philip Rivers followed that by throwing a really, really ugly interception off his back foot.
Luckily, the Chargers defense seemed to get back on track on the following drive and they still have a 2 touchdown lead. However, without a running game to grind out the second half, the offense will need to throw the ball and move the chains while avoiding turnovers in the second half.
