BFTB After Dark: June 5, 2012

There's been some San Diego Chargers talk today but nothing much in the way of news. Larry English hopes he's healthy. Atari Bigby thinks he can be a starter. Yawn.

As far as Bigby goes, I don't doubt that he has starter's talent. Heck, my uncle (a Packers fan) considers Bigby to be one of his favorite defensive players that he's ever watched. However, even before Atari signed with the Chargers, that same uncle has repeatedly told me "Atari Bigby is a great player, but he simply can't stay healthy." In a lot of regards, he reminds me of Bob Sanders.

I think you'll hear a lot about how good Bigby looks during OTAs and the team's training camp this season. I also think Brandon Taylor will be your full-time starter at Strong Safety by Week 4, the same way Steve Gregory was last season behind Bob Sanders.
