As written here yesterday, I was in so much pain when making the video below that I don't actually remember making it.
What I do remember is what I was thinking before making it and that's probably what came out. That's this: Larry English is the only first-round OLB that the San Diego Chargers need this year.
Think about it, any new OLB drafted in the first round would have to sit behind at least Jarret Johnson, Antwan Barnes and Shaun Phillips. They would also have to beat out English for that roster spot, which isn't a sure thing because English has shown himself to be a capable NFL player when healthy.
I know, I know. You're upset with me. I don't care. I'm right. Larry English has been a good NFL player, but his foot has been terrible to him. Can you blame it? Larry has had to deal with the worst training staff in all of football and takes the blame for being a "bad pick". Maybe if the team's doctor weren't a criminal, we'd all be talking about the Chargers' Super Bowl rings and how English was the perfect replacement for Shawne Merriman.
Either way, I'll take all of English's potential on a one-year deal as the 4th or 5th OLB on the team over a new OLB that would probably push English off the team (which would cost the team money) but spend most of his time on the bench.....and I assume I said as much in the video above.
