The San Diego Chargers have just announced the re-signing of Jacob Hester, who was their starting Fullback and Special Teams captain in 2011.
FB Jacob Hester agrees to one-year contract to return to SD. He is 20th vet free agent to join or re-join Chargers since end of 2011.

The San Diego Chargers' "wait and see" approach has now seemingly worked with every free agent they had on the team not named Vincent Jackson. While he was away, Hester lost starting his Fullback job to Le'Ron McClain, but will probably retain his position as the Special Teams captain. Hester, like McClain, can also help as a runner or receiver out of the backfield.
Now that the Bolts have shored up their Special Teams and the backup RB spot, there are almost no holes left on this roster. The one exception to that might be backup Free Safety, but that's not a difficult hole to fill. This allows the Chargers to go with the Best Player Available with at least their first round draft pick and probably a few draft picks after that as well.
