No, this isn't a reprint of an old post. After seemingly turning a corner in his life, and then battling and defeating cancer, Ryan Leaf took the starring role in a real-life story of redemption through his appearances on San Diego sports radio shows and even hosted The Darren Smith Show a few times.
Despite his positive attitude and public persona, Leaf is apparently still battling his old demons.
Former San Diego Chargers quarterback Ryan Leaf was arrested Friday and charged with felony burglary, misdemeanor theft and criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
Leaf posted bond at $76,000 on Friday evening, officials at Cascade County Detention Center told the Great Falls Tribune.
So, while the rest of us were checking our lottery numbers and hoping for a miracle, Leaf was apparently back with his old friends and bad influences in Montana.
According to the Great Falls Tribune, Leaf was arrested at his probation office....which is a bit odd. The details on this are very vague at the moment, but it certainly looks like it will quickly undo all of the work Leaf has put into rebuilding his image.
