32 Observations: Week 10 - Nathan Jahnke
At one point of the season it was Jackie Battle getting the carries in San Diego. Part of that might be his 46.6% Breakaway Percentage, which is the second-highest for backs with at least 30 carries, behind Adrian Peterson. On the other hand, Ryan Mathews has a Breakaway Percentage of just 10.3%.
Maybe the End for Maybin - Khaled Elsayed
I theorized yesterday that teams wouldn’t look at a guy like Ray Edwards because of his baggage and inability to flourish in a situational role. Now that’s exactly why a number of teams could be interested in Maybin.
AFC West Stock Watch - Bill Williamson
Denver has a two-game lead over San Diego. If the Broncos beat the Chargers on Sunday at home, they will have a three-game division lead with six games to go, plus the tiebreaker over San Diego. It would be very difficult for Denver to blow such a lead.
Signature Stat Snapshot: Pass Rushing Productivity - Khaled Elsayed
The Top 20 features two rookies with Bruce Irvin in the eighth spot and Melvin Ingram in 13th. The only downside is both men are purely situational players with Ingram only rushing the passer 115 times. Can they handle the extra workload? Last year’s situational superstar, Aldon Smith, hasn’t been nearly as productive since moving to an every-down role, and is "only" 21st this year
The New Old School - Chris Brown
The success of Chip Kelly's Oregon offense is more familiar than it seems
AFC West Pro Bowl voting update - Bill Williamson
Free safety, Fourth place: Eric Weddle, San Diego
Gates on Precipice of Chargers History - Ricky Henne
Now, he is on the precipice of setting a monumental one with his next touchdown catch, the 81st of his career, will tie him with Lance Alworth for the most in Chargers history. Not too bad for a former college basketball star who signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2003.
