In Week 4 of the 2012 NFL season, the world stood up and took notice of the awesomeness that is Donald Butler. The third year Inside Linebacker was named the AFC's best defensive player of the week for his effort in the Chargers' win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Butler finished the game with 4 solo tackles (2 assists), 0.5 sacks, and an interception returned for a touchdown....which looked something like this:
Interception returns and defensive touchdowns weren't the only reason Butler was given this award in Week 4, however. Donald was a pass-rushing force, getting that half-sack while rushing from the OLB spot on one play, and was his typical self against the run.
We were saving this GIF for Superduperboltman's Defensive Analysis post later this week, but I don't think any Chargers fan will mind seeing it more than once....
Donald Butler is definitely one of the rising stars in the NFL and on the San Diego defense. If he continues playing this season like he has, it'll be hard to keep him out of the Pro Bowl.
