Week 5 Quick Reads - Vince Verhei
Rivers didn’t have a lot of luck once the Chargers crossed the New Orleans 40, going 5-of-10 for 39 yards and two first downs (including a touchdown) plust one DPI, two sacks, and a fumble.

ReFo: Chargers @ Saints, Week 5 - Khaled Elsayed
Sometimes a full games worth of top quality play can be undone in two plays. There has been a lot of talk about whether Mathews was even the Chargers’ primary back anymore. Sure, Jackie Battle has been ahead of him at times, but there is no doubt the Chargers want Mathews to carry the load, and they know they will be better shape if he does. Mathews had 80 yards on 12 carries Sunday at New Orleans and he had some big runs. He is digging himself out of the doghouse.

NFL: Week 5 knee-jerk reactions - ESPN.com staff
The Chargers would have led the AFC West by two games with a win at New Orleans. They would have been in charge. Now, they have to regroup or risk being tied with the Broncos next week.
