Sunday, December 26th, 2010. That was the last time the San Diego Chargers took the field for a meaningful football game. 259 days without an ounce of real excitement for the Bolts fans to cheer on. 8 months and 17 days.
Ladies and Gentlemen.....WE MADE IT! Meaningful Chargers football is back, along with all of your favorite players (sorry, Kevin Burnett fans). Rivers to Jackson! Rivers to Gates! Bob Sanders!
There is some risk/reward going on here. It's September. We know what that means. Although the Chargers seem to be playing a flawed, inferior opponent, this is a lose-able game for Norv's men. And if they lose, it will hurt so much more than any preseason loss or free agent loss or even if the Chargers had lost to the Broncos in Week 17 of last season. That's the risk that comes with the potential elation of a sweet, sweet Chargers victory.
We made it this far, people. Let's get on the roller-coaster and see where it takes us. I'll see you on the other side (aka halftime).
GO CHARGERS!
