Open Thread: 2011 NFL Draft, First Round

Leading up to the draft, everyone wants my prediction of what A.J. Smith and the Chargers will do. As if I am A.J.'s secret conduit to the outside world, a joke that he sits at home and giggles about every time someone looks at my foolish writing and says "That guy doesn't know what he's talking about." Gosh, that'd be awesome.

Anyway, here is the same prediction I give every year (at least for the first round, after that only a handful of people care and they usually understand that predictions are pointless). Some team, probably more than one, picking ahead of the Chargers will make some sort of trade (sounds like the Patriots are trying to move up to get Cameron Jordan) or make some sort of unexpected pick (Tyson Jackson #3 overall comes to mind) and screw up any predictions anyone has made about the Bolts and their #18 pick.

See you in the open thread, kids. Fingers crossed for the next Haloti Ngata.
