Jabaal Sheard NFL Draft Scouting Report

1

Sheard is a college DE, that is more likely to be a 3-4 OLB in the pros than a DE. We tracked him in the BFTB Scouting series where we saw him rise from fringy prospect to potential 2nd round pick by accumulating sack after sack. If the Chargers need a pass rusher in the 2nd round, he could be a target. One thing to add to the report is that he did most of this without the help of his teammate Greg Romeus. Romeus was considered the better DE prospect going into the season, but missed most of the year with various injuries. This shows that Sheard was able to take on the responsibilities of being his team's biggest pass rush threat and a willingness to step up when others go down.
