The Chargers will roll into the Windy City Sunday looking to get back on the right track. These two teams are headed in opposite directions at this point in the season and in some circles there is concern over how Philip Rivers will make it back to San Diego in one piece. Either way, this game will have fantasy football implications, so let's get to it.
Rankings:
QB - 19
HB - 7
WR - 14
TE - 32
Philip Rivers - Rivers last few games have been decent. Not what you expected if you drafted the Chargers signal caller, but he has started to put up numbers. Unfortunately, I don't see his luck continuing in Chicago. The Bears defense is great at home and Rivers will be working behind a patch work o-line. Prediction: 260 yards and one touchdown.
Ryan Mathews - Mathews is healthy, but the Bears are very stingy against the run. If the Chargers have a chance to win this game it will be because of the running backs. Prediction: 90 total yards
Mike Tolbert - Screen passes and goal line carries are what Tolbert will be about on Sunday. He's not a great option, but if you need a flex play, he has a shot to get into the end zone. Prediction: 75 total yards and a touchdown.
Vincent Jackson - I hate to admit it, but I'm a bit sour on Jackson at this point. I know he is playing hurt, but four out of the last five games he has scored in single digits. I don't expect anything different this week. Prediction: Three catches for 35 yards.
Vincent Brown - What can this young man do for an encore? After a great week last week, I am setting my expectations low. Prediction: five catches for 65 yards
Antonio Gates - The Bears allow the most points to tight ends in the league. If Gates is going have a monster game it will be this week. Prediction: 8 catches for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Cherry Picking
Here are some guys that have very strong plays based on matchups this week. I'm not telling you to start them, I'm just passing along some information, so don't shoot the messenger.
