In one of the more intriguing games of the week, the San Diego Chargers roll into Jersey to face the New York Jets. The coaches have given the media plenty to talk about this week and for all intents and purposes this should be an entertaining game. Enough with real football, let’s get to the stuff we care about, fantasy stats!
Rankings
Vs QBs – 1st
Vs. HBs – 29th
Vs. WRs – 4th
Vs TEs – 7th
Philip Rivers – I know Rivers has been shaky the first part of the season and I don’t expect that to change this week. The Jets allow the least amount of points to fantasy quarterbacks. Sorry homers. Prediction: 185 yards and a touchdown
Ryan Mathews – As tough as the Jets have been in the air, they are a bit soft on the ground. Mathews has been outstanding this season and will be the key to the Chargers getting a victory on the road this week. Prediction: 150 total yards and a touchdown.
Mike Tolbert – I’m betting the bye week will help Tolbert get back on track. It is also safe to say he will start getting goal line snaps once again. Prediction: 70 total yards and a touchdown.
Vincent Jackson – Welcome to Revis island! Most people will say that Revis will take Jackson out of the game, but I would argue the opposite. This matchup helps Rivers, but from a fantasy stand point, I don’t like Jackson this week. Prediction: 3 receptions for 55 yards
Malcom Floyd – Opposite Cromartie this week, fans will be cheering hard for Floyd to have a big game. He will get plenty of looks from Rivers on Sunday. Prediction: 5 catches for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Antonio Gates – I am not expecting much from Gates, but I feel obligated to place him on the list at this point. The amount of snaps he will get is up in the air, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable starting him. Prediction: 2 catches for 20 yards.
