From ProFootballTalk:
The man San Diego drafted to replace Kevin Ellison at strong safety has signed his rookie deal.
Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that Darrell Stuckey agreed to terms with the Chargers. With Ellison now off the team, Stuckey shouldn't have difficulty earning a starting job as a rookie.
A Kansas product, Stuckey made his mark as a wrap-up tackler that provides solid coverage skills.
Now that Ellison has been released, it made sense for both the team and the player to get this done. Stuckey's the best option to take Ellison's spot, and both he and the Chargers' front office want him to have the best opportunity to be the week 1 starter.
Can't wait to see what the dollar amount is on this one.
