Qualcomm Stadium Costing San Diego Millions | KPBS.org
"What we found was that the stadium operations were not self sustaining, that the stadium required a subsidy of over $10.8 million annually to sustain its operations," auditor Eduardo Luna says.
LBPOST.com: Couch Commentary: How The NFL Will Come To Los Angeles
A Chargers move to LA just makes sense. It doesn’t interfere with any of the divisions, they already have thousands of ticket holders in LA and Orange county (including your truly.) The Chargers seem to legitimately want to stay in San Diego County but there’s only so long you can hope for that before they see the writing on the wall.
Chargers' days with Al Davis set stage for Raiders rivalry - USATODAY.com
"Sid Gillman created the rivalry," Ron Mix says. "To Sid, the ultimate act of disloyalty was to leave his coaching staff. ... Before Al got to the Raiders, we used to beat them by 40 points a game. He took great pleasure in turning that around. Not because it was (his former team), but because the Chargers were the gold standard at that time."
Scout.com: The Bolts' Hidden Offseason Pick-Up
One way the Chargers hope to offset the loss of Igor Olshansky is with the addition of seven-year veteran DL Ian Scott. True, Scott was on the team most of last season, but he made virtually no impact after joining the team in Week 4.
The defense stirs some feelings of déjà vu for Scott; defensive coordinator Ron Rivera held the same role in Chicago from 2004-2006, when Scott was a key cog in the Bears' defensive line. In his three seasons playing for Rivera in Chi Town, Scott averaged more than 31 tackles and 4.5 pass breakups per season.
Jeff Dickerson's Blog - Sunnier days ahead for Scott - ESPN Chicago
The San Diego Chargers look like a perfect fit for former Bears' defensive tackle Ian Scott. Although Scott is now lining up at defensive end in the Chargers' 3-4 defense, he has been reunited with ex-Chicago coaches Ron Rivera and Don Johnson. After failing to make a contribution during his first year with the Bolts, Scott is projected to be part of San Diego's four-man defensive end rotation, and could possibly see some time inside at tackle.

Wade Phillips gets a look at his old defense: The Cowboys' head coach helped Shawne Merriman have the best season of his career when he was the defensive coordinator in San Diego. In fact, the Chargers' defense hasn't been nearly as dominant since Phillips brought his version of the 3-4 to Dallas. The Chargers will play on the road against the Browns and then come to Dallas on Dec. 13. It will be a great opportunity to see Merriman and DeMarcus Ware on the same field. The Cowboys opted for Ware over Merriman, and at this point, it looks like they made the right decision.
