Van Heusen's HOF Voting: Round 2

This post is sponsored by JCPenney and Van Heusen

It's getting closer to that time of year, where five or so legends of football are enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  If you missed the first post I did about it, you probably don't know that Van Heusen and JCPenney are teaming up to do an online "Fan's Vote" for who should be in the Hall of Fame.

Already, it's led to a bit of a controversy with the fan's disagreeing with roughly half of the 25 semifinalists picked by the selection committee.  I think the large discrepancy between what the fans want and what's they're getting is going to lead to fan participation in the future.  As in, the more the fans show their appreciation for this Fan's Vote the more likely it will become that the NFL will give the fans the opportunity to vote somebody into the hall.

We've reached Round 2 of the Fan's Vote, which allows you to choose which of the 25 semi-finalists you'd like to see inducted.  Unlike the first round, you can only vote for one person this time instead of four and unfortunately Don Coryell is no longer an option.  Poor Don.  Next year, around the time of the vote, I'm going to try to get together with Kellen Winslow and Dan Fouts to give Coryell all of the publicity he can possibly get.

Until then, I've decided to give my vote to the most deserving of the group of underappreciated players and coaches.  I'm not going to tell you who I believe that is, so as not to sway your vote, but I recommend you look through the list of candidates and avoid the obvious choices (Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, etc.).  They'll get enough votes.  Use your vote to voice your support for somebody who truly needs it.
