2014 NFL Draft: Best Available Players Remaining on Day 2

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

With one day and one round in the books, we turn to this evening for two more rounds of the NFL Draft. Who's left that we should keep an eye on tonight?

On their big board published yesterday, Jerome Watson and Kyle Posey identified 25 players as having first round grades. 21 of those players were selected in the first 32 picks last night, including Jason Verrett by the San Diego Chargers. Who are the four first round caliber players left on the board?

Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia
Xavier Su'a-Filo, OG, UCLA
Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State
Kyle Van Noy, OLB, BYU

All four would be instant upgrades to the Chargers roster, and if they slip much further are candidates for trading up to acquire (especially XSF and KVN).

Okay, but what about players that should make it past the first 10 picks tonight? Well, our big board had 24 players with second round grades and five of them were selected in the first round. That leaves us with 19 players we could be reasonably happy with at 57. They are:

OFFENSE

Joel Bitonio, OG, Nevada
Gabe Jackson, OG, Mississippi State
Dakota Dozier, OG, Furman

Bruce Ellington, WR, South Carolina

DEFENSE
Zach Kerr, DL, Delaware
Will Sutton, DL, Arizona State
Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
Telvin Smith, LB, Florida State

Scott Cricthon, OLB, Oregon State
Aaron Lynch, OLB, South Florida
Rashaad Reynolds, CB, Oregon State
Phillip Gaines, CB, Rice
LaMarcus Joyner, S, Florida State
Terrence Brooks, S, Florida State

So, that's a lot of names. At least one of them still has to be there at 57, right? Right? Round 3 is tonight, too. Here are the 27 players still available with third round grades (two were taken in round 1):
