Building Towards 2015-2016

I will start off with my very early, and hopeful, 2014 mock draft that would provide the players for the rest of my argument.

1.) Kyle Fuller - CB Virginia Tech

2.) Van Noy - OLB BYU

3.) Matthews - WR Vanderbilt

4.) Kerr - NT Deleware

5, 6, 7.) - O-Line/D-Line/Linebacker depth

So with these picks (which would be incredible) the Chargers are looking at a 2014-2015 season with:

Offense: Rivers, O-Line, Woodhead, Matthews (RB), Allen, Matthews (WR), Floyd, Gates, Green, Brown, Royal (+ depth)

Defense: Reyes, Kerr, Liuget, Van Noy, Butler, Te'o, Freeney, Fuller, Wright, Williams, Addae, Weddle

Not bad at all. I think that puts us into Playoff Contention easily, and we might even win a game or 2.

BUT, I think TT is focusing on the 2015-2016 season, and here's why:

The Broncos are going to be in cap hell with all their acquisitions this year, the Seahawks will be losing players as many big names (Sherman, Wilson, etc.) will be coming off their rookie contracts, and the Patriots and Brady will be that much older. Now in 2015 the Chargers have lots of Cap Space, so we make a splash in Free Agency (and build through the draft) and get better pass rushers, shore up the O-line, and maybe a CB and Safety. That team would be stacked. Have all the necessary tools to compete for the SB, and I think that it would be the Chargers year.

It's my first post so cut me some slack, please. Let me know your thoughts.
