With the frenzy of free-agency kicking off today, seven hours passed before the San Diego Chargers made news. They did so by signing one of Kyle Posey's free agent targets.

The deal is 3 years for $10.5 million with $4 million guaranteed.
Brown is coming off a season in which he had 537 yards and 6 td's on 102 carries. He also had 27 receptions for 214 yards and 2 TDs.
With Ronnie Brown entering free agency and Ryan Mathews a free agent in 2015, Brown's signing serves multiple purposes. He provides valuable depth behind Mathews and Danny Woodhead, and also provides insurance against Mathews impending free agency (which reduces Mathews' leverage).
Brown was selected in the 2009 NFL draft with the 27th pick by the Colts. He had 2,377 rushing yards and 17 TDs in five seasons with Indianapolis.
