Turnover Battle
Want to know why the 2014 San Diego Chargers are 5-1? The answer is simple. The team has yet to lose the turnover battle a single time. The only game in which they didn't win the turnover battle was against the Buffalo Bills, when neither team turned the ball over.
The Kansas City Chiefs struggle to force turnovers and turn the ball over at a more-than-Chargers rate. Because of that, they have won the turnover battle just once, in their blowout win over the New England Patriots.
The Chargers will likely win the turnover battle at home on Sunday, which gives them a very good chance to win the game.
Philip Rivers
If he's not the MVP through six weeks of the season, he's second only to the best season I believe I have ever seen by a defensive line (J.J. Watt).
It's been said before, and I said it a hundred time last season, but when you're backup plan is to let Philip Rivers score as many point as possible, you're going to win a lot of games. That's a solid backup plan.
Chiefs at the Q
Any guesses as to the Chiefs record at Qualcomm Stadium over the last six seasons? Any?
Oh. And Six. 0-6!
The Chiefs are a much better team at home, and we know that, but they appear to be a worse-than-normal team when they have to play in San Diego. That bodes well for Mike McCoy's squad.
