Manti Te'o has foot surgery - Michael Gehlken (paywall)
The Chargers linebacker had surgery this month, a team spokesman said Tuesday. The official spoke in response to an Instagram account that leaked a foot surgery occurring last week, although the spokesman said he could not confirm the account's authenticity.

2013 Football Outsiders Awards - Aaron Schatz
Welcome to the 11th annual Football Outsiders Awards. Readers get to have their say in categories both conventional -- like MVP or Rookie of the Year -- and unconventional. We've got the Keep Choppin' Wood award for the worst player of the year, awards for most overrated and underrated players, and of course the "John Mellencamp Must Die" Award for most annoying commercial.

Recapping 2013: The Quarterbacks - Ricky Henne
Rivers was named the Pro Football Writers of America Comeback Player of the year, joining Adrian Peterson, Matthew Stafford, Michael Vick and Tom Brady as the last five winners of the award.  He is one of three finalists for the FedEx Air Player of the Year as well.

Tom Telesco Honored by New York State Senate - Ricky Henne
With the Super Bowl being held in the New York City region this week, football fever is taking over the entire Empire State.  As such, the New York State Senate honored native son Tom Telesco on Tuesday.  Jacksonville Jaguards GM David Caldwell was also honored.

Quarterback Postseason Drive Stats - Scott Kacsmar
Well, no missed kicks yet for Wilson and the Seahawks. Flacco's kickers being 19-of-20 must really sting for Baltimore fans when everyone knows what the one miss was. Montana would have even better numbers if his kickers didn't miss 14 times in an era of weaker kicking, but at least none of the misses ever directly cost him a game. The choking legacy of Nate Kaeding helps Philip Rivers bring up the rear.

Chargers rookies make an impact - Eric Williams
San Diego had a total of 2,605 snaps played by rookies in 2013, No. 10 in the NFL. New England tops the list with 3,595 snaps played by drafted rookies, followed by Chicago (3,186), Jacksonville (3,125), Buffalo (3,014), New Orleans (2,851), Tampa Bay (2,877), St. Louis (2,803), Dallas (2,791), Green Bay (2,719) and San Diego (2,605).
