I recently renewed my PFF subscription & was thinking if I should get the FO Almanac too
Q1) The one named 2013 is of the 2012 season, correct?
Q2) What unique statistics does it actually list? PFF lists things like missed tackles, QB hits/pressures (& snaps so you can normalize them), routes run -- tons of things that are not found anywhere else (or at least insanely difficult to find). In an ESPN article (which I know works with FO), they mentioned Yards-after-contact for TEs, and this is something PFF doesn't keep track of (or at least list yet). I would be highly interested in this stat for WR/TE (since it paints a better picture of their ability to be elusive than Yards-after-catch). I also know in their own articles they sometimes mention tackles broken (which paints a different picture than just missed tackles).
But obviously just 1 or 2 stats not found elsewhere wouldn't really be worth it. I know the guide supposedly features a lot of "predictions" and crap like that -- I couldn't care less. I'm just interested in base-statistics (noted from a play-by-play) that I can throw in an Excel document & mess around with, drawing my own conclusions. Does the FO Almanac actually contain a fair amount of stats that aren't recorded elsewhere?
Thanks in advance for any information :)
