San Diego Chargers: All-time underrated, overrated players - Dan Rachal
During San Diego's Super Bowl season in 1994, Means ran for 1,350 yards and 12 touchdowns. And that was about all the Chargers got out of the former Tar Heel. In his third season, he only played in nine games, gaining 730 yards. He was waived before the 1996 season, then re-signed with the Chargers in 1998. Means played two more years with San Diego, but never came close to matching his former Pro Bowl form.

Talking NFL with Rivers McCown - Zach Abramowitz
On a personal level, I am a big fan of what John Schneider has done in Seattle. I am not the biggest fan of Tom Telesco's start out in San Diego.

Shutdown Countdown: San Diego Chargers don’t offer a lot of reason for optimism - Frank Schwab
Is the roster better, worse or about the same?: It isn't better. The Chargers lost talented guard Louis Vasquez to division rival Denver, didn't resign productive linebacker Takeo Spikes, lost once-productive pass rushers Antwan Barnes and Shaun Phillips, and didn't really add anyone of note.

San Diego Chargers salary cap outlook: Bargains and busts at wide receiver - Brian McIntyre
With the addition of third-round pick Keenan Allen to the receiving corps, Royal will need an impressive preseason, particularly on punt returns, just to make the 53-man roster. If Royal does make the team, the Chargers will likely seek to reduce his $3 million base salary and $3.875 million cap hit.
