BFTB Tournament of Terrible: 1-15 season or the 2008 Pittsburgh playoff game?

Jim Rogash

And we finally come to the last matchup of the first round of our tournament.

You can see the whole bracket by clicking here. We've finally made it to the 4 vs 5 seed matchups and there can barely be any favorites here. These should be "fun."

Next up today: (4) the 2008 Pittsburgh playoff game vs. (5) 1-15 season.

What happened?

(4) On January 11, 2009, one week removed from one of the more exciting games in Charger history, the Chargers would take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Divisional round of the playoffs. Although the final score doesn't look embarrassing now at 35-24, that game was a massacre. The Steelers dominated the 3rd quarter like few teams have ever dominated any period in any sport. The Chargers only got one play on offense in the quarter and it was an interception that wiped out a 63 yard kickoff return by Darren Sproles. The most enduring image from this game, though, is still when the punt hit Eric Weddle in the back of the head and the Steelers recovered. How is this only a five seed? Being a Chargers fan is the worst.

(5) In 2000, the San Diego Chargers were coming off an 8-8 season in 1999 and I'm sure some were hoping they would take that next step forward. Personally, I've blocked these memories out of my mind. Coached by Mike Riley and quarterbacked by a combination of Ryan Leaf, Jim Harbaugh and Moses Moreno (do you guys remember Moses Moreno? I could have sworn I just imagined him) the 2000 San Diego Chargers wouldn't win their first game until Week 13. Thank you to Kansas City for being worse for at least one day that year because I don't think I could have handled 0-16. On the bright side, this season did result in the Chargers getting to draft LaDainian Tomlinson.

Which is worse?

Vote in the poll and let us know why you chose the way you did. Hate.
