Yesterday I was surprised to hear KC let RT Eric Winston go.. As he is regarded as one of the better zone-blocking RTs in the league, it makes sense to ask ourselves: could the Chargers grab him?
The first obstacle to that plan, however, is everybody's favorite punching bag Jeromey Clary.

As this great article by BFDC shows, cutting Clary would save $2.3 million off the cap while leaving $3.4 million in dead money.
Last year Winston signed a 4 year/$22 million deal with KC, slightly higher than Clary's 4 year/$20 million. At an age of 29 and after not struggling too much in KC, Winston would probably still command that $5-$5.5 million per year.
Pros:
- Upgrade over Clary
- Has a lot of experience in zone-blocking if McCoy wants more of that
Cons:
- Additional money spent on RT position
- Probably sought after on open market/hard to get
Oh, what to do?
