A future look at the Chargers Salary

I decided to look at the chargers roster salary breakdowns that were provided by the Sport trac website:

In the following spread sheet I complied the information as best I could. Feel free to look at the data.

At the end of the spread sheet I decided to have some fun with the number by seeing what happened if we cut 5 of our more expensive players from the roster in 2014. Interestingly the total came out to 23 million dollars in savings with 16.4 million in dead cap space or 6.6 million in real savings. Also our total dollar amount under the cap is just over of 18 million even when including 2 years of new draftees at a total expense of 5 million per year. The real savings come in 2015 when we get back the 16.4 million in cap space.

The rookie wage scale should continue to help our situation in the future.
