Now do you see why I said all offseason that Guard was a more worrisome roster spot for the San Diego Chargers than Tackle? The Tackles didn't perform well last year, but at least there are actual bodies there. The only player besides Nick Hardwick that was worth a damn on San Diego's offensive line last year just went and signed up to play for the new kings of the AFC West.
The Chargers have yet to sign anyone besides Nick Novak and Mike Windt, but they are apparently doing their best to woo Jerraud Powers (a former Colts CB) and John Phillips (a former backup TE for the Cowboys). They have also tendered Danario Alexander with an "original round" tender, which means that they get nothing in return if he signs elsewhere (because he was undrafted) but they do reserve the right to match any offer he receives.
This being Tom Telesco's first free agency period as a General Manager, it's a little worrisome that he has yet to make any real moves while players are being poached from his own team.
