Two guys coming out early Chargers could steal in late rounds...

The first is Gavin Escobar - after the combine I'm afraid the local SDSU TE star will not be such a compelling secret anymore...that said, I still don't see him going any higher than round 4 and he'll probably be right there in Rd. 5 for the Chargers. This guy can block and catch anything thrown remotely near him - he even runs well. A serious stud who would come in and immediately contribute (and hopefully push the guy whose name I have no chance of spelling that they took last year a little too high)...

The second is Nickel Robey out of USC...he's a little small but a legit cover corner who can actually wrap-up and even deliver a few hits despite his small frame. He's fast, quick and fearless. Teams stayed away from him almost the entire season and he's an NFL corner - but he's coming out too soon and will be fortunate to find himself taken before Rd. 5...a good combine might help him - looking at his tape will also help his stock but I think he's just going to be one of those guys who falls. Hopefully the Chargers take Leon McFadden earlier and don't need to take Robey for depth but if he's there in rd. 7 he's a steal...
