The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that Chargers Linebacker Thomas Keiser was arrested Sunday night on suspicion of
assault and battery misdemeanor assault. The alleged incident occurred at barleymash around 10:30pm, and the restaurant's owner declined to comment to the newspaper.
San Diego Police have reported that Keiser and another man at the restaurant got into an altercation that escalated into a fight. The other man received minor injuries in the fight and declined medical treatment.
As of Monday evening, Keiser was no longer a resident of the county lockup, presumably because he posted the $8,000 bail.
The team released a statement, stating the usual:
We’re aware of the issue involving Thomas. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and let the legal process run its course.
Kaiser joined the Chargers Practice Squad in May of this year. He was promoted to the team in October and has played in 12 games, with 3 starts under his belt. He had gone undrafted out of Stanford in 2012 and signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2011, where he spent his first 2 years in the league.
