Epic interview endears Philip Rivers to more than just Chargers fans

San Diego Chargers fans already knew the type of personality that their quarterback Philip Rivers has. They have seen for years the ups and downs, the bravado, and the energy that he displays on a daily basis. Up until last night, the attitude of Philip Rivers had not necessarily won over much of the nation though.

Then last night happened and Rivers gave the NFL Network one of the most epically entertaining interviews of all time. Philip was sincerely giddy, and deservedly so, after an impressive win against the Broncos and he won the honor to sit down with the Thursday Night Football crew. By the end of the interview, it was the TNF crew that had the honor to sit with Philip Rivers.

Every so often you see an interview and you just know that the player talking is destined to be a part of football forever. There are few people that can be so endearing and so impressive when they are given a microphone and free reign to talk away. Philip Rivers is one of those people.

From his southern accent to his rattle-snake skin cowboy boots, Philip is one entertaining son of a gun. While watching him in this interview it felt like years of the future after his playing days are over were being teased to the nationally televised audience. There is no doubt that Rivers is going to end up being a TV personality after his career is done, he has color commentator written all over him.

His honesty, his humor, and his love of the game of football has him pegged as a future member of some lucky television station. Everybody all along has known how much of a talker Philip is, but now everybody knows how much of a genuinely good nature he has. Crass on the field sure, demonstrative when he disagrees with something absolutely, but downright good ole fashioned entertaining beyond a shadow of a single doubt.
