That Did Not Look Athletic: Week 7 (SD vs. JAX)

Phil Sears-USA TODAY Sports

The Chargers finally ended their streak of TDNLA dishonors. In Week 7, it was the Jaguars who demanded recognition.

That Did Not Look Athletic is a weekly series that examines some of the least athletic plays from the previous week's Chargers game. This series is meant to give us a few laughs by showing that even the best athletes in the world have their moments of shame. It's also a reminder that you aren't a complete loser just because you punched at a tether-ball and fell down in front of a bunch of 3rd graders.

I remember seeing Blood Sport in 1988 for the first time. Jean Claude Van Damme amazed viewers with his ability to do the splits and the all-around athleticism he brought to Martial Arts films.

Then JCVD filmed Kickboxer in 1989 and we were all left to wonder . . .

I'm a terrible dancer but this . . . this is just wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. In fact, I would say . . .

TDNLA, y'all!

Honorable Mention

Mike McCoy

This is a fun GIF. It's actually pretty athletic on McCoy's part - look at how he squats down to pick up the challenge flag. Excellent form.

But this week isn't about the Chargers - it's all about the Jacksonville Jaguars.

TDNLA Week 7

Cecil Shorts III

Heading into the final minutes of the contest, Jacksonville was staring an impending 0-7 record squarely in the eyes. With no chance to defeat the visiting Chargers, the Jaguars did have an opportunity to do something they had yet to accomplish at home in 2013: score a touchdown.

Up until now, Jacksonville had managed only 3 FGs and 1 safety but now was their chance to do something positive - anything - to build some sort of momentum heading into their week 8 match-up against the San Francisco 49ers.

So on 3rd and 7 with 1:45 remaining in the game, Chad Henne dropped back and targeted his 3rd year receiver out of the University of Mount Union . . .

If that doesn't say Gahhhhhhhh!!!, I don't know what does. But when we witness plays such as these there is another sound we will always hear. Just ask this Chargers fan who made the trip to Jacksonville . . .

Indeed, That Did Not Look Athletic.

H/T to Crean for the great GIFs.
