Perfect 2014 NFL Draft for Chargers Week 6 Edition

Ok, I think everyone knows by now that if we don't win tomorrow night vs. the Colts, we will probably have an 8-12 round pick. The Chargers have played great on the offensive side of the ball, but their defense is horrible. They do not pressure the quarterback and that leads to big plays against the secondary. Although Quentin Jammer and Antoine Cason were not great last year they are still better than the Gilchrist, Wright, Marshall nightmare.

Ok, so here it goes. The Chargers will have 8-12 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

1st RD- The Chargers have so many holes to fill and truly this team is in a rebuilding mode ever since veteran players left. Although many say that the Chargers need a LT, I think that they will address their defensive need in the 1st round. The Chargers' King Dunlap has played above average, not great, but solid. King Dunlap should provide a temporary solution while the Chargers rebuild their defense. The Chargers will probably be able to draft either CJ Mosley, Kyle Van Noy, Khalil Mack, or Anthony Barr. The Chargers need to upgrade up front in order for the secondary to not get beat that much.

The Pick: The Chargers select Anthony Barr out of UCLA. If he is not available the Chargers will select Sammy Watkins or Bradley Roby. You have to go with the best options available and these 2 should be available in the 8-12 pick.

1st RD- The Chargers will probably trade to move up to the 1st round, I think that the Chargers will trade a player in the offseason to have 2 2nd round picks and be able to trade their 2nd round, 4th, and 5th round picks and the year afters 2nd round pick to move up to the 28-30 pick. The Chargers will try to upgrade their pass rush again and to secure a great defense up front.

The Pick: The Chargers will select Kyle Van Noy. He will be overlooked and he will fall at the hands of the Chargers.

2nd Round- The Chargers have upgraded the defense up front by selecting Anthony Barr and Kyle Van Noy. The Chargers will then want to upgrade the secondary. The Chargers could go after Louchiez Purifoy or Jason Verrett. Many people have said that Verret will probably drop in the big board and fall to the 2nd round. The Chargers will then select Jason Verret and upgrade the CB position. Purifoy is a hard hitter, but not a good coverage guy.
