USA TODAY Sports

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the San Diego Chargers have signed Ken Whisenhunt to be their new Offensive Coordinator.

That was fast.

That's about as official as it's going to get before the team has a press conference. They will have a press conference, right? Maybe that's just for new General Managers and Head Coaches.

Whisenhunt has been coaching since 1995, working his way up the ranks as a Tight Ends Coach (mostly). In his first two seasons as an Offensive Coordinator, he helped lead the Steelers to a 15-1 regular season record and a Super Bowl victory.

Ken has been pretty much attached at the hip to Russ Grimm, whom he took from the Steelers organization to be his Offensive Line Coach in Arizona, so it will be interesting to see if Grimm eventually comes to San Diego with him to replace Hal Hunter as the Chargers' Offensive Line Coach.

Now Mike McCoy just needs to find himself a Special Teams Coach, and some random position coaches, and he can start focusing on free agency with Tom Telesco.
