Exclusive Interview with Mike McCoy - Ricky Henne
It’s always been a tough, physical game against them. They’ve been very competitive. Philip Riverssets the tempo for this football team. He’s one of the great competitors out there. When we signed Peyton Manning last year, he had a great comment coming out that ‘Hey, it’s great that he’s here. It’s going to make it that much of a better division, a tougher division to win, and we’ve got to play better every week.

Philip Rivers Excited About Future Under Mike McCoy and Tom Telesco - Ricky Henne
"I met with him today and we got started," he said. "I’m excited about that. Certainly there’s going to be a lot of changes offensively from what we’ve done. It’s going to be new and different and I’m sure he has a ton of great ideas and schemes, so I’m looking forward to getting going with him."

Exclusive Interview with Tom Telesco - Chargers.com
We had some really good candidates. We had a great list and we did a lot of research. Mike came and clearly stood out from the rest of them. He has such passion for football, you can see that right off the bat. You can see it in his eyes. He’s just very well prepared. If you told me he was a first time head coach I would have never believed you because of the plan he came in here with for the Chargers. We are really excited moving forward.

Carryover rules impact cap strategy - John Clayton

Rivers is key for McCoy hire - Bill Williamson
Will it result in more victories when it counts? That’s the goal, but it is clear the Chargers want to take a young, refreshed approach as they move away from the long A.J. Smith-Norv Turner era that ended with a three-year playoff drought.

Meet new Chargers coach Mike McCoy - Bill Williamson
McCoy was highly-sought after. He had five interviews and Jacksonville wanted to make it six. There have been eight openings this offseason. This is an offensive-first league right now, and McCoy is well respected around the league.
