Because you asked for it, you get another Edition of Who stays and Who goes!
This Edition of "Who stays, and who goes?" is going to be a good one... Well, It'll be like all of them, if they are your kind
of thing. This edition, I will analyze the D linemen.
Defensive Ends:
Corey Liuget - kept - This guy will stay. He notched 7 sacks, including a 2 sack effort against the New York Jets. His 7 sacks were 2nd only to Shaun Phillips (9.5). He is under contract through the 2014 season, and is a rising star on this defense. He also collected 51 combined tackles.
Kendall Reyes - kept - He got 5.5 sacks on the year, and 28 combined tackles. He did very well this season, and should continue to do so. He should be starting this next season because I do not see Vaughn Martin getting resigned.
Damik Scafe - cut - He appeared in 2 games, and did not record a tackle. He had been on the practice squad until Malcom Floyd was injured, and Damik took his roster spot.
Vaughn Martin - not resigned - He started this year over Kendall Reyes, but Kendall Reyes outplayed him. He will find work elsewhere.
I hope you enjoyed this installment of "Who stays, and who goes?" Enjoy 2013!
Defensive Tackles:
Antonio Garay - cut - He has no guaranteed money this season, due to the structure of his contract. He only appeared in 8 games this season, benched under Franklin. Garay is 33, and only recorded 16 tackles and 1 sack. Don't look for him to be on the roster next preseason.
Cam Thomas - kept - Drafted in the 5th round a few years back, but according to some analysts, could have gone in the 3rd round. He could be starting soon for the Chargers, instead of being a rotational player.
Aubrayo Franklin - not resigned - He started 9 games this season, but will probably get a bit more money elsewhere. I doubt he gets a contract due to his age.
