About Last Night: Notes from Falcons-Broncos Game

Last night's Monday Night Football game worked out about as well as possible for the San Diego Chargers, who are competing with the Denver Broncos for the AFC West Championship and will match up against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Here's one good result of the game for the Bolts:

Another is that Peyton Manning looked human, throwing 3 interceptions in the first quarter and finishing with a QB rating of 58.5. Still, the running offense for the Broncos seemed to easily slice right through the heart of the Falcons defense whenever they wanted.

On the other side of the ball, the Falcons looked like a finely-tuned machine when throwing the ball but were completely ineffective at running it. That will probably be the case again when they visit San Diego, as Michael Turner went out and got himself a DUI after the game that will probably lead to him missing at least part of Sunday's game.

With the Falcons having to travel cross-country on a short week, and with Michael Turner's status in jeopardy, it would appear that the Chargers would have a good chance at being 3-0 next week if they can limit their turnovers and provide solid coverage on Roddy White and Julio Jones.
